I believe webmasters want to have their own logo and favicon for their own websites or blogs. Logo and favicon can make their websites or blogs look different and unique. Here are my tips how to create your own logo and favicon.

Creating Logo

You can use your MS-Excel to create your own logo. Just click Insert | Picture | Clip Arts and choose the suitable picture. Right click the picture and activate Show Picture Toolbar. You can modify the picture by this tool. Or you can make your own picture using AutoShapes | Lines | Curve. Then click Insert | Picture | WordArt to add some words to your modified picture. Then click Select Objects arrow, range those pictures, right click, choose Grouping and Group. Now you have a new single picture.

Then open your Paint program. Copy – paste your new picture into Paint. Resetting or adding colour to make up your picture. Then save as BMP file. The last step is open your BMP file using Adobe Photoshop CS. Resize it to get a smaller size, then save as JPG file. Now you have your own new logo.

Another way to have a logo is by scanning an interesting picture from your books or photos. Then resetting it as I mentioned above.

Creating Favicon

Now you are ready to make Favicons. Favicons are the little icons that show next to bookmarks and in the address bar of most browsers. Favicons are 16 pixels square. Upload a 16 x 16 pixel PNG and click ‘Faviconify!’ to create a favicon for your website. This favicon maker supports alpha transparency.

Once you create your favicon.ico file, upload it to the root directory of your website and put the code given to you in your html page in the header.

Now here I will talk about some of ways you could make money on the internet using Photoshop, and why Photoshop you may ask? Well for me its Photoshop, for you it may be another software or subject you thing you have an advantage in, Adobe Photoshop was just a thing I thought I had a talent for.

So for you, if you don’t know anything about Photoshop then drop it, find another niche and do as it did, I wrote a list of ways to make a living on the internet with the use of my skills.

The first and most obvious way to make money with Photoshop for me was to get some freelance jobs making graphics and sell them. Now how do you find freelance jobs? Well there are a lot of forums on the internet where firms and people request for help and post job offers, you could be lucky to get some great deals like making a piece of graphic in about an hour and get 50$ other times you may settle for a lower pay. The most important thing is to have some stuff online you can show potential customers, something that would impress them.

You could also try participating in some of all those contests floating around the internet. Yes I know this would never be a stable income, but it could be a good bonus, as you may be a very good artist there may be a good change of you winning some good prizes.

Make a Photoshop blog. This is very popular right now, write news, graphics, or tutorials in your blog and get some traffic to your site, then put in some ads and you could make some money this way. I must say I have heard this is very hard to make the big money from, because it demands a whole lot of work, not only in Photoshop, but also promotion you site.

Now you could also sell your graphic at several image stock websites. I did this for a while, this way are not that popular or have not been enlightened enough yet, but you could make some decent money posting and selling your artwork in those websites.

Just make a search on Google for image stock site.

Remember I did not say it was easy to make money using Adobe Photoshop on the internet, but if you like it and love spending time in Photoshop, this might be worth a thought or two.

Also keep in mind there is a lot of competition out there, a lot of very good graphic artists to compete against, but if you keep trying and you have a talent for it then you may have a change, but I would recommend you not quit your day job before you have tried it to see if you could success.

Being a computer technician pays nice money and has for a very long time. Why?well,mainly becuase alot of new computer owners fail to learn how to use and maintain there new computer. Before purchasing my first computer back in 1998,I took an 8 hour class on the basics of operating a windows 95 system based computer..Even with the class,within the first few months,I had crashed the computer 3 times. This gives you somewhat of an idea about what we have here today..Alot of people now are getting computers becuase there friends have one,or to just get into the chat rooms,or the adult sites..point being..they dont know how to use a computer,much less maintain one.

To save yourself alot of money and unneedless trips to the computer shop for repairs,there are a series of very simple steps you can take to keep your new computer running fast and efficient. Myself,I have windows xp home edition running on my computer. I find it to be the best system out there at the moment.The choice is of course yours as to what operating system you install on your machine. When you get your new computer home and you configure an internet connection,the first thing I recommend that you do is to get to the windows update site. The site will automatically update your new operating system with files to prevent people on other computers from accessing your data. Next step is to install an anti-virus and spyware program on your computer.

If your buying a new computer from a big outlet,this is usually included with your purchase but not always.Make sure to inquire about this when purchasing your computer. Both these programs,the anti-virus and the anti-spyware are a must have in todays computer age..You can get good information from google(http://www.google.com}. Just type in anti-virus in the search box..you will get choices for alot of programs..same for the anti-spyware.

Over time,you will visit alot of websites..Most of these sites has what are called “cookies”.These are little embedded packages of data(files),that the sites you have visited leave on your computer to track your browsing habits. After awhile,these files need to be purged,deleted from your computer.

Other files that need to be purged at least once a week,are your temporary internet files and your history files. Failing to do this will really slow down your computer to a crawl and possibly cause a system crash,meaning you will have to re-install your operating system.

When you open up internet explorer,at the top left of the page,you will see options..Look for the Tools option.Left click “Tools”,then left click “Internet Options”.From there it should be straight foward for you.After you have deleted your temporary internet files and history files,click “OK” I do this at least once a day,really keeps my computer running fast.

Now im going to share with you,some things you can do about whats inside of your computer “the case”or your computers “hardware”. No matter how clean the surroundings where you have your computer placed,over time,alot of dust and particles gather on the inside..your motherboard,inside the power supply,on your cpu,all your cards”video,sound,ect.” I clean the inside of my computer every 3 months and I recommend all new users do it also.

Here is how to do it: First,before you do anything,make sure the computer is unplugged from the outlet and is completely turned off! Next is to get a screwdriver for those little round screws you will need to undo to get inside your case. When both sides of the case are removed,you will need a can of compressed air..you can buy this from any computer store for under 5 dollars. You then spray all the areas inside the case..you will see the dust and dirt flyng off from the places you sprayed. Doing this 4 times a year(every 3 months)Is a great way to save alot of money and keep your computer running like its brand new.

Now,lets say you want to make a website for your small business that your starting.For example,your going to be selling computer games.
You will want people to know about your website and this entails submitting your website to the major search engines and directories,such as google,yahoo.msn,altavista and others.

To keep the viewer staying on your website,you need to make sure all your links are operational and not dead links.Meaning,there is a page not found error(404) that displays when someone would click on one of your links from your main page.

I would just like to say that The WYSIWYG(What you see is what you get)html editors are good for the quick fix website,I dont get the gratification of building a website using that method. I code all my webpages by hand in windows notepad. This will take longer but I do receive more satisfaction designing my webpages this way.

It’s best to save the raw image, because you’ll lose some of the quality with the .jpg.

Layering:
Once you have the photo in your computer, the photo will usually open using your default program, so you’ll need to open Photoshop and then open the image. You’ll then have the ability to do all of your resizing, layering, and manipulation in the program itself.
If you save the image directly in Photoshop, it will save it as a .psd, .pdd, or .eps file. These formats will keep the file large and preserve all the layers, so keep that in mind when saving. If you’re going to rework the image at a later date, it’s best to save in this mode. If not, then you have some other choices.
The .tif or .tiff was frequently used with early scanners, and will preserve the majority of the quality, but it saves large files and are best used if submitting them to a publisher or a printer.
The .bmp, or a bitmap, is a Windows® file that creates good photos, but still creates a large file.
The .pdf is an Adobe Acrobat® file, and locks images and texts so that they can’t be further manipulated. If you want to create files like these, you’ll probably need to buy the full version of Adobe Acrobat.

Web Use:
The best file formats for Web use would, of course, need to be small file sizes. Many times, though, the compression takes out some of the range of color and the vibrancy of the photo.
Joint Photographic Experts Group – .jpg or .jpeg is probably the most popular Web form, because it compresses the file to a small size, but still allows for the display of millions of colors. Photoshop give you the ability to choose how compressed you want the image to be, and you’ll want to play around with Adobe Image Ready until you’ve found a small file size that doesn’t seem to lose any of the color and subtleties in the photo.
Portable Network Graphics or .png is a recently developed format that’s becoming popular for Web use. It compresses the files differently than .jpg does, but it leaves better quality photos. It has the capability to maintain millions of colors and transparencies, but still keep the file size relatively small. If you’re on a PC, though, bear in mind that Internet Explorer doesn’t support it.
Graphics Interchange format or.gif is the other popular Web form, but it’s not great for photos. It’s better for graphics and illustrations because it loads quickly and has the capacity for animation and transparent color.
This should be a helpful guideline to get you started in the digital photography and manipulation world. Allow yourself the time to explore all the possibilities of current programs and settings on your camera. Learning computer basics in the various photo editing programs can be a lot of hard work. There are two elements to SEO – what you do on your website and what you do off your website.
Let’s talk about things you can do on your website to improve SERP results.

1. Hierarchal Design
The web pages you create should be in a hierarchal design with your home page at the top of the hierarchy. Every page of your website should be reachable by at least one static link.
2. Quality Content
You have to have a lot of quality content on your websites about your particular niche. For real estate websites, this can be achieved by news articles, blog threads, events calendar, and thousands of property detail pages.
3. Keywords
You have to use keywords in your content that related to your particular niche. If you just use the keyword “real estate” you probably are not going to rank very high in the SERPs. However, if you use “Holland Michigan Real Estate” for your key phrase, that gives a specific location. Chances are if you have a great website about Holland Michigan Real Estate, then you are going to rank high in the SERPs. By the way, you should make sure you have your keywords in a the keyword meta tag. Try to limit yourself to 10 keyword phrases.
4. Sitemap
You should have a sitemap on your website. This helps crawlers learn about the structure of your site and makes every section of your website reachable. I would make one sitemap for your users and another XML sitemap for the crawlers. Make sure you submit the XML sitemap to google and yahoo using the webmaster tools.
5. Avoid Black Hat Techniques
There are several black hat techniques such as keyword stuffing and hidden text that can temporarily give you a boost in the SERPs. However, in the long run, your website will be penalized and be even lower in the SERPs than you started out with. Stay away from these techniques.
6. Include a ROBOTS.TXT file on your site.
This tells the crawlers what parts of your site can be crawled. You should avoid making your member and admin sections crawlable.
7. Dynamic Content
Most real estate website use dynamic content. If you use dynamic content, keep your URL strings short and do not use session IDs in your URL strings.
8. Linking to other sites
Make sure you only link to sites you trust. Do not link to link farms or websites that have poor quality. Do not create a link farm yourself either. Linking to sites related to yours is good, but watch out for sites that are not directly related. A couple of these links will not hurt you, but if you get carried away it might.
9. Relevant Title Tags / Description Tag
Make sure your keywords appear in your title tag and description meta tag.

Now, let’s talk about what you can do outside of your website to improve SERP rankings.
1. Backlinks
You need to get as many backlinks as possible. However, you should pace yourself. Google knows the rate to which you get backlinks. If you increase this rate to fast, alarms go off and your website may get penalized. Plan on doing about 1 hour a day getting backlinks. Do not spend all day doing this.
2. Directories
Submit your website to directories and lots of them including dmoz and yahoo directory.
3. RSS feeds
There are a lot of RSS feed directories out there. If you got a RSS feed, submit it to these directories. This will increase traffic to your website.
4. Social Bookmarking
Submit articles to websites such as digg.com and propeller. Submit videos to websites such as youtube and google. People will bookmark your articles and videos. This will drive traffic to your site.
5. News Releases
Submit a news release about your website.

Schedule Tasks
Schedule tasks to run automatically. No more forgetting.

A feature again seen throughout windows 9x and 2000 is a program for scheduling tasks to run automatically, surprisingly labelled ‘Scheduled Tasks’.
In this tutorial I will show you how to use the scheduling program to schedule the Disk Defragmenter, just one of the possible programs which can be scheduled.

START:

You may need to have administrative privileges to carry out these steps.

• Click Start, then All Programs.

• Expand Accessories, then System Tools.

• Now click ‘Scheduled Tasks’.

• The task scheduler will now launch.

• When it does you should see a windows explorer style window, to create a new task right click on any white space in the window hover over new then select ‘Scheduled task’.

• If you haven’t already got any scheduled tasks double click ‘Add Scheduled task’. A new window will now open, click ‘Next’.

• Now run down the list and select the program you wish to schedule to run automatically. In this example I am going to schedule the Disk Defragmenter.

• The Disk Defragmenter is not in the list so I can browse for the program which is in the ‘System 32’ directory of ‘Windows’ on my local hard disk or because I know the path I can type ‘%SystemRoot%system32dfrg.msc’ (without the quotes) in the file name field.

• Then click Open when the program is selected.

• Now type what you want the program to appear as in the schedule list, and then select how often you want the program or task to run.

• Click next; now select what months, days and what time you want the task to run and then click next.

• Now select the user you want to run the task and enter your password. This should be an admins details if you need administrative powers to run the program.

• Now click next, then finish.

You have successfully scheduled a task to run automatically and should now see it in the scheduled tasks list.
